Since the early twentieth century, God chose a group of believers who over the years have spread the gospel on this part of the country.

Between 1908-1941 the faithful Baptist believers held their religious services in different locations provided by the believers or rental spaces for worship and proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Church building on Petru Rareş Street

The most stable address was Titu Maiorescu Street No. 10 where, between 1920-1941, a room for worship services has been arranged. Although the number of believers at that time wasn't large, they decided to build a Prayer House, looking forward to the coming generations to be redeemed.

Starting with this vision they built the house on Petru Rares Street, where the believers gathered until 1996. Since the 80s, once the building has been overcrowded, the brothers wanted to expand it or build a new one. Because of the political system in those days, this was impossible in Deva.

However, by exercising greater initiative and innovation, interior changes were made, so along with the extending of the balcony, the number of seats in the main hall and choir increased.

By the courtesy of the Lord, in 1990 we were able to build a new church building, and in 1991 we began its construction. Also this time the vision of believers was to build a bigger church building with many facilities and halls for various ministries and activities. During construction, the church members also helped the work execution of specialized companies. With God's help, this building was opened in 1996.

Today the building has a total number of 42 rooms:

The mail hall built as an amphitheater

• The sanctuary is built as an amphitheater ordered on several levels, with a capacity of 1,500 seats and hosts some events up to 2,000 people.
• The basement multipurpose hall with a capacity of up to 280 seats may have different compartments. There can be organized several meetings, rehearsals, sports, nursery and Sunday school rooms. Serve meals on different occasions, weddings can be arranged. The multipurpose room includes Sunday School and Kindergarten rooms and a specially designed space where you can prepare food, can cook meals for various events and for social canteen.
• Behind the balconies there are rooms furnished for different ministries: catechesis, lectures, rehearsals and rooms for material storage (warehouses).
• The administrative body has five levels where there are rooms for preschool, Sunday school, offices and an apartment.

The Sanctuary

The main hall has a floor heating system and the administrative body has a classical system with radiators, heat being taken from Mintia Thermal Power.

There are also other utilities provided: electricity, communications, water, sewer, gas.

Land for building (5020 sqm) is the property of the church, which is decorated with green spaces, children's playground, parking, annex carpentry workshop and warehouses.

Administrative Department of the church provides:

• a good running of administrative activities
• the material and organizational framework for the operation of church activities
• coordinating and carrying out development and maintenance of various spaces designed for church activities and events
• management of church property

The Prayer House of 1908s was demolished long time ago, the place of revival is no more either, the first generation of Baptist Christians who have experienced the living in holiness went to the Lord. The human-made things have passed, but the God-built belief not only remained, but was extended and Deva and surroundings.

There are more than one hundred years since then, many things have changed, but God's faithfulness to us remained the same:

"Praise the Lord, all you nations; extol him, all you peoples.
For great is his love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord."
